# The Multi-Layered Latency Stack

Eight layers of latency that an AI-Driven Enterprise compresses. Model, for the specific organization, where each layer sits today and where it moves as agents are deployed. The transformation-outlook template renders this as a per-layer visualization; you supply the current and future latency posture per layer, grounded in the executive's actual constraints.

## Modeling per layer for this organization

For each of the eight layers, work with the executive to establish:

- **Current latency posture (0-10):** how much this layer slows the organization today. 10 = crippling drag, 0 = already near-instant. Ground it in specifics: the Data layer score should reflect their actual reporting cadence; the Governance layer should reflect their actual approval committees and risk posture.
- **Future latency posture (0-10):** where the layer realistically lands as agents are deployed, given the org's velocity, readiness, and constraints. Governance rarely goes to 0 in a regulated business, and should not; the AI-driven solution reserves human review for high-stakes exceptions, it does not eliminate oversight.
- **The binding layers:** which two or three layers are doing the most damage today. These are where agent deployment pays back first.

Tie the layers to the org chart work: the Management and Structural layers map directly to the reporting relationships and geographic spread visible in the chart; the Governance layer maps to the approval and governance relationships defined when deploying the single agent.

## Honesty about governance

Do not model the Governance layer to zero. In a regulated or high-risk organization, compressing governance latency means automating the routine and reserving humans for high-stakes exceptions, not removing oversight. A deliverable that shows governance latency vanishing is wrong and a board will not trust it. Keep a floor proportional to the risk posture established in the interview.
